Concept of Inclusive Education

“Every child is singular and unique; every child is different, regardless of any disability it may have.  Looking upon this diversity  as  an enrichment, an opportunity for all, is part of our being human and an underlying philosophy of inclusive education.”

Claudia Niedermair

  • “Regular schools with this inclusive orientation are the most effective means of combat in discriminatory attitudes, creating welcoming communities, building an inclusive society and achieving education for all; moreover, they provide an effective education to the majority of children and improve the efficiency and ultimately the cost-effectiveness of the entire education system.

    Including All

“Inclusive Education refers to the educational practice based on the philosophical belief that all learners, those with disabilities and those without, have a right to be educated together in age appropriate class groups, and that all will benefit from education in regular classrooms of community schools. Within these settings teachers, parents and others work collaboratively using appropriate and sufficient resources to interpret and enact the regular curriculum in a flexible manner in accordance with the individual abilities and needs of all learners.”

How far is this being practised in regular classrooms?

Diversity is the existence of many unique individuals in the workplace, marketplace and community. This includes men and women from different nations, cultures, ethnic groups, generations, backgrounds, skills, abilities and all the other unique differences that make each of us who we are.
      Inclusion
Inclusion means a work environment where everyone has an opportunity to fully participate in creating business success and where each person is valued for his or her distinctive skills, experiences and perspectives.

  3. The B.Ed course in itself is inclusive, as it brings students from different sections, medium in terms of language as well as various communities under one course. The idea that every child is special is followed in B.Ed institutions, as various opportunities are given to the student teachers to exhibit their talents and use it in their instructional methodology.

Respect for difference and diversity is at the heart of inclusive education. Thus inclusive education is the practice of providing a child with disabilities with his or her education within the general education classroom with the supports and accommodations needed for that student.
Thus, it can be concluded that Inclusive Education is the gateway to build relationships where difference is welcomed and respected.

  9. As sameer said,

Along with teachers attitude, attitude of parents as well as that of the society must be develop,
Parents( of normal child) and the society has to accept that a disable child can be learn along with their child without making any impact on their child. Instead of that they have to understand that their child can learn many values such as co-cooperativeness, supporting to each other, providing helping hand for their progress.
and being a good human being

yes, the B.Ed course follows inclusive education. All levels of children, highly literate, not that much, people excellent in communication, people who are not that great, we are all put under one shelter and equal opportunities are given to each and everyone. The same that we are learning now will definitely be implemented in the schools were we teach.
